Twitter Suspended - No Warning!

Hi All.

I have recently started Twitter Comping. Retweet and doing what most Compers do and then Copy & Pasting aswell. I admit there was one for an iPad which I did go a little OTT with Copy and Paste.

I got back from work today went to Tweet a normal its Friday kind of Tweet and it kept failing, I check on the laptop and I have had my account suspended!!!

I didn't think I tweeted as much as a few other Compers and I do use Twitter for talking to friends and Tweeting random stuff so not sure why this has happened, I am actually really annoyed.

Has anyone else ever had it happen or have I been really naughty.

I'm never quite sure what people mean when they say twitter jail. Can someone please explain what this means?

If I tweet a lot, I find that suddenly, I am not able to tweet any more, but if I then leave it until the next day, I am able to tweet again. I think twitter does not like it if it thinks you are a bot.

basically if you do (i think) more than 100 tweets in an hour or more than 1000 in 24 hours you get sent to twitter jail

wow that's a lot of tweets even with my comping I probably do less than 100 a day - maybe I'm just boring

I had exactly the same when I started using Twitter recently. I couldn't understand it as I hadn't been tweeting a lot at all, but after contacting them they re-instated my account and apologised as it was in error, but it took a few days

I've got an account which I've just started using for competitions only so I don't spam my followers on my normal account. If I'm just retweeting stuff am I likely to get suspended too??

I'm in twitter jail virtually every comping night.

And I've had my account suspended three times. I don't spam, just retweet a comp once, and rarely type my own tweets so I assume re-tweeting does get you suspended.

However I dont know how much of a worry getting your account suspended is. After contacting Twitter after each suspension, the third time they said my account was now going to be permanently suspended. :eek: Yet when I logged in afterwards, it let me un-suspend(?) myself just like normal and it's been fine ever since.

I contacted them Friday but havent had any response. I dont just use the account for comping, I am always chatting to friends on it and randomly tweeting about every day things. It would have been nice to have some warning I have been in Twitter Jail once before - That was on a Friday when there was 100's of new Comps in one day.

I know alot of Competitions ended at the weekend, but no chance of winning them now as my account just says I don't exist.
