  • Anymore thoughts please cos I would like to try and sort this out tonight

  • if you did get the loan could you not pay £200 a month instead of £150, as you are already paying out this on repayments at the moment, this would clear the loan alot quicker
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!
  • FDF - that is the plan, however, with there is no penalty for paying it off early, so I would like to set it at £150, and not get into any problems, caution being the bye word.

Read Martins article. 4.9% M&S seems to bet the best at the moment.

egg loans have a typical rate of 7.9 according to their website, so your already quids in.

As others say greater flexibility. YOU MUST NOT USE IT THOUGH!!!
  • SanF - no worries it will be kept safer than ohh I dont know something safer than safesville in safeland - daft post apologies!!!

  • Right then - we have sorted the loan, at it will save us about £1000. And the egg card is now in about 12 peices. The releif is enormous, no temptation for MR SF, and have kept the Barclay card and lowered the limit, which is only to be used for work.

I know many think I did the wrong thing but as I am very frugal, I know this will make a difference.

You have saved yourself a £1000 saffron nothing wrong with that :T

I think circumstances for you are different as its not your debt and you obviously are already good at money management.
  • Zippy - why thank you - when we sorting it out the lady on the phone asked how MR SF had got in this position, I answered - "He is pants with money!" she laughed and said "So your are knocking him into shape" she also commented that she wished more partners would help with sorting these issues. - I have to say they were very good, and made sure he could afford it etc. I was quite impressed, and as I work for the CAB it was useful to see the process first hand.
