Whipcar - is it green?

I like the look of a new site called Whipcar which lets you earn extra money by renting your car to neighbours. Sounds like a good scheme for a little extra income, but they pitch it as being "green" - I don't really understand how it is, can anyone explain? Sure, if fewer people own cars and rent from their neighbours…

Not green at all, Im saving up because someone local to me has got a nice jag.

Im saving up for 4 hours hire and a tankful of fuel. The challenge is to use the entire tank within that 4 hours.

Owner wont know whats happened to it. Just need to reset his fuel computer so that he cant see we only averaged 6 - 8 mpg.
He may wonder how we managed so many miles in 4 hours though.
