can anyone help with this one

if you do support work in the community ie visiting homes how does that work if you do say 30 hrs a week?

Is that including travel or is the travel time to be added on.

  • With my ex who used to do it, it depended on if she had to go to base or not. Most the time she didnt and so the clock started ticking when she got to her first clients and stopped when she left the last one. With the few where she did then it started when she got to the office and stopped when she got back to the office.
  • It depends completely on the agency you work for. In the past I've held a support worker type role for a chairty and the hours included travel time. You're not going to get the answer on here, I'd suggest you just contact them to ask - they will have their own policies and procedures around how/when /from where etc the hours are calculated. I suspect it varies widely from different locations and agencies.

My daughter did care in the community couple of years ago, she wasnt' paid any travel time, she had to input a code on the clients phone at the start and end of visit. She 'worked' stupid amount of hours for stupid amount of pay. Petrol took up most of her wage, and had to wait unitil April to claim it back.
