Help Required

Hi all,

Im not sure if i have posted in the right area but i will explain my problem.

I recently purchased a monitor from an online retailer for the sum of £274.88 pounds. I recieved an email from the company saying they were unable to deliver the product to my work address due to cost and could only send to the card holders address, this was not a problem so i contacted them and made the arrangements.
However when i returned to work there was another monitor waiting for me at work, so i checked my account balance first only to find they had taken for the one monitor 3 times causing my account to go overdrawn and loads direct debits to bounce.
Now the retailer are fine with refunding the costs for the extra monitors but they wont accept liability for the bank charges i have been charged which is a total of 180 pounds (which i will be attempting to reclaim from lloyds).

I have spoken with the trading standards and they have adviced me to write to the company saying they are in breach of contract and they are liable for the refund of the extra monitors and they much cover any consequential costs that have occurred from the result of going overdrawn.

The help i need is that im not 100% sure on how to word a letter of this kind so any help would be very much appreciated.

Regards

M Thompson

PS

Want sure if i should have named the company or not?

I would just bullet point the facts, with dates etc that you have had contact with the company, and enclose copies of the parts of your statement (or a letter from the bank) that confirms the charges you have incurred.

You could state 'I have been in contact with Trading Standards, who confirm you are in breach or contract, and are therefore liable for the full refund of the cost of the additional monitors AND any consequential costs incurred due to your error. Therefore, I expect to receive from you, the sum of £xx.xx (show breakdown of how you have arrived at this amount) as a matter of urgency.'

Keep copies of any correspondance you send them, and good luck, hope they resolve it quickly for you.
