Hi
We are just about to sign into a Scottish Trust Deed (very similar to your IVA). But first of all we need a Basic Bank Account.
After visiting Clydesdale Bank they said yep no prob you can have one but we need a letter from your TD provider saying that you are allowed a bank account. (YOu cant enter into a Trust Deed without a basic bank account).
Our TD company have now told us that they will not contact anyone untill the TD is signed!! so we are now in a catch 22 situation!!
Clydesdale was just about the only option we had becuase we have links with just about every other bank.. Co op is the only other one we can use and there is not a branch anywhere near us to anyway. Also time is running out fact and so are our options, Can anyone help?? We are getting desperate

have you tried nat west step account, its very basic, you can apply online0

Unfortunately although we have been accepted by Natwest, we have a credit card debt with them that will be included in the TD so I have been advised not to use it because they may seize the money in there0

have you thought about an online bank? If you were trying the Co-op, then maybe you can get an account with Smile. You could ask for there to be no overdraft, but you would still have a debit card. You can take money out at any post office, and pay money in the same way.
hope this helps
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
