Ok, to summarise :
-You want to work in administration
-You currently work in a supermarket earning £192 per week
-You have been offered an admin job paying £230 per week (although longer hours).
I don't see the dilema ?
You can either stay at the supermarket and wait for the £50k job to come along, or you can take the admin job, work hard, improve your skills, get some relevant experience and then either get promoted within the company or apply for other jobs where your experience will be valuable.
Edit - sorry, you replied whilst I was posting this.
Good luck. This job may not be your ideal job or paying the kind of salary you hoped for, but take the opportunity and make it the first step towards your ideal (hopefully higher paying) job.0 -

Not all of them do pay min wage, Aldi and Lidl pay quite well, Aldi pay £8ph rising to £9ph and Lidl start on £6.50ph with 30 days holiday.Right, just got another email, the qualifications will be...CII Certificate in Financial planning? 5 exams, and each time I pass one I get £300 added to my salary, so that's...£13,500? She also said it would "Easily" lead on to admin at the higher level with some experience. AND she said they're developing an online hub which she said I could get involved with due to my IT background.
I'd be okay with £12k if I could keep 1 shift at Tesco to bounce it up a bit until the salary is higher.

Attend the interview and take it from there, 1 step at a time.0 -

It is, but it is worth noting that they can only do this is there is a specific signed written agreement in place. A general policy or line in an employee handbook is not sufficient.0 -
The salary isnt that great but sounds about right for a junior admin job and also depends where you live of course.
At the early statges in your career take all the opportunity you can get. The experience and qualifications will be valuable to you even if the salary isnt that great. Get some experience and you might get promoted or could move on afterwards. Employers usually look to see what you have been doing previously and if you dont have specific industry experience not matter what your age or qualifications you might well have to start at the bottom.0
