Robinson Way Ltd - Help please

Hi all,
My husband has rcvd a letter from the above debt collection agency chasing a debt owed from 2003 which he knows nothing about. He has rung Robinson Way and they have advised that it is for an account that he held jointly with his ex wife who he seperated from in 2000.
My husband is sure that when they seperated they notified any joint accounts of who would be taking over the accounts but he has no proof of this. He has had no contact regarding this account since they seperated and it has not appeared on his credit report or seemed to have had any affect on getting credit i.e mortgage.
It appears that his ex-wife has been making payments towards this debt so am unsure if there is any way that this can be classed as statute barred as my husband has not had any contact from the lender in 9years. Can anyone advise how we should proceed with this?

Tell them to get stuffed.
Write to them, do not ring, and ask them to prove it ie any documentation relating to your husband. And when they can't you can tell them- literally - to get stuffed.
There is a prove it letter somewhere around here, I will see if I can dig it out.
They say that his ex wife is paying? Do you really trust them to tell the truth? No, I don't either.
Rob Way are low life scum and as long as you realise that, you will be able to deal with them in the correct way.
With contempt.
Like I say, write to them asking for proof that your husband has anything to do with this debt at all and then sit and wait for their response.
And please don't ring them again. If they ring you just refuse to answer any security questions (that really narks them).
