I had an email from grabmydeal.co.uk:
GET 60% OFF on a Sony VAIO Laptop - originally worth £499, for only £200.
Any thoughts, please?

Seems like a good deal, searching online prices are £400 plus. Never heard of the companies though, not sure why but I am a little suspicious of it also. The company you actually buy from doesn't 'appear' like the biggest outfit, maybe someone who has heard of them/bought from them could help.0

Looks as if you are buying a voucher that you have to download. I don't think I would be brave enough to risk it.0

Please have a look here ( real all of thread ), although some have their goods eventually supplied by someone else I'd be careful:

I woudn't go near them.
They can't get their English right and their phrases aren't commonly used in the UK which makes me think they're a foreign company.
This is on their "about us/customer service" section;
"We believe that consumers are kings – and that's that! We try and make no compromises as far as lending an ear to our consumers is concerned, and also try and troubleshoot for you 24 x 7. We value customer trust and customer loyalty above everything else, and we let our prompt assistance to prove this to you!"0 -
Oh Dear, not good :eek:Man who run into airport turn-styles is going to Bangkok

They dont comply with UK trading laws as they dont post a UK address nor vat number I found there address hidden away only via goggling it

Company Information. You need to include your company name, a UK geographic address and an e-mail address. You should also include your VAT number if you have one. You can include this on an 'about us' or 'contact us' page, but for some information, such as company name, address and telephone, it can pay to include it on every page, for example in the footer.
I wonder if there address they used is genuine and not just a address for post

It is the same business model as Groupon, Livingsocial etc but must be new as little information comes up about them online.
Looks like a great offer and within the discount range of other sites.
The slight concern is that when you click on Terms and some of the other links on my computer it doesn't come up and the page distorts.
That said, their Twitter feed has been running offers since last December and if you pay with a credit card you are protected?

They do include this on the contact page:
http://www.grabmydeal.co.uk/contactus.php
and that address is also the registered office (although curiously, the address registered at Companies House is just 'Lauderdale Tower' - no flat number!).
It's a pretty new company and the English on the website is very peculiar in parts, so draw your own conclusions...0 -
grabmydeal loads much better in Firefox which corrected some of the page layout issues (compared to IE9). However, still no terms visible and when you register there then doesn't appear to be a registered area where you can change your address/account details etc nor any mention of the recommend a friend type model (£6, same as Groupon).
The laptop seems a fantastic deal, but is it protected by credit card protection if all is not what it seems?
Looking at their Facebook page, they offered the computer back at the end of August as well but this appears to be the biggest value deal that they have done.
