This seems an excellent price and the set gets some good reviews on AV Forums.

PS You need a trade card to purchase from Makro and you can purchase a 3 year extended warranty for an additional £199.99

That looks like a good deal. I work for a distributor of Sony TV's and I know they're working hard to promote their Rear pro tv's at the moment. I saw a demo of this model and it's very good.

They were always a lot bigger in depth but now they are getting slimmer and slimmer .

Personally speaking I've never found rear projection TV's to be that great. Pretty much every one I've seen pales in comparison to LCD & plasma sets.

Depends if you are talking about old rear pro TVs which were not very good. The new sony ones are excellent. I have got a 42" DLD rear pro Sony and I have not seen an LCD or a plasma that is any better (or possibly not even as good).

The new DLP rear pros are as good and if not better than most normal Plasmas. I have a SAGEM 50" and its smashes my mates samsung and Pioneer to bits on pic quality.

You wont find a rear pro wall mountable and yes you will need to replace bulbs every 3 yrs on normal viewing (£70) but for the money they are great specially for the size you get.

The days of the old 4 ft deep rearpro's are well gone
