I just bought my first pair of Doc Martens...
Plus a retro Joops bag (both in the vintage section of the local Sue Ryder).
I think I'm about to grow old disgracefully! (but cheaply

You'll be the one still standing in DMs when the snow comes! The number of people I saw trying to walk in Uggs/fake-Uggs last year was shocking!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0

I'd be careful walking in snow in DMs - I took mine to Finland thinking they would be perfect but apparently not! I spent most of the weekend on my bum!0

Take it easy with the DMs. The leather needs a couple of weeks to flex and soften around the tops and the heels - you could get some outstanding blisters if you launch straight into walking miles in them. This should be easier as they're second hand, but the flexing might be in different places, so take it easy on the offchance.
Thick, long socks make for the safest walking.
And I always wear them in snow or for fishing.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Biker Boots are pretty good too - I got mine half price in a sale and I fully expect them to outlive me (as I dont actually go any where near a motorbike!). They were right on trend last year - but I dont care if they are passe this year - they are comfortable, waterproof, non-skid and the worse you treat them the better they look!0

My first pair of DM's were bought in a charity shop. I've been wearing them for at least eight years.
I'm seriously considering wearing my girly ones to my offsprings winter wedding.I'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -
DMs now come in welly form too which ARE 100% waterproof!0

I love these boots. The leather is nice and supple and worn in. I wore them most of yesterday with no problem at all :beer:0

I have flowery DMs (at the age of 47). They rock!. Mine were new from fleabay and broken in by wearing bedsocks the first few outings. The ones that look like they are made from shaggy stuff, not the lovely thermal jobs. See, 47, you appreciate bedsocks at that age!0
