How long does it take for or to contact

Went bankrupt Monday an still not heard a peep from the or, how long does it normally take for them to get in contact with you.
It's the waiting that's making me anxious.
The court seems to have been the easy bit(apart from the morning of court date)

I was really hoping I would have heard something by now.

  • Did you not speak to them within 24 hours just to fix up an appointment time for your main OR appointment? I think I had a call the day after BR to fix the appointment where we went through the form together which was then a month later. Do give your OR a ring.

    Hi

Can vary I got an initial call day after court from Or this was just basic call asked if had any PPI, checked bank account and then OR arranged a time and date when full phone interview would be (mine was the following week after initial OR call). Some ORs will wait until they have received petition paperwork from court and will then do interview. Most do make initial call first.

You could always phone the OR office and just check they have your details passed to them from the court if you dont hear by tomorrow.

    Take care
  • No not heard a peep from them, if I don't hear tomorrow I will give them a ring to check if they received all details.
  • I went BR on a Friday, no phone call that I knew about (at work most of the day) got a nice letter and request for info arrive on the doorstep the following Saturday, this letter told me the time of my telephone interview (was today!) and when they wanted everything back by, the OR hadn't recieved it by today but didnt seem unduly concerned, they do close your bank accounts and contact banks very quickly so if you are using one that the OR knows about keep an eye on it.
every time I manage to get one more breath into this body, I will sing a song of thanks to you my brothers, my sisters, my friends, may your sleep be peaceful, and angels sing sweetly in your ears.
  • Hi, i came out of court at 10.35 Monday, had a call from or by 11.15, just to introduce himself, he said he wouldnt get intouch with bank as it was with coop and i used it for everyday expenses. He rang again this morning as he had recieved the form and made an appointment for tomorrow to go through it, he said it would take about 30 mins. maybe mine is on piece work, but just shows how different areas are K x
  • i had call day after court asking to confirm details and ask about my bank acc and my vehicle. she then rang back 48hrs later with interview date of 2 weeks after.

  • I had a call 3 hours after court and appintment for face to face interview (at my request) the following week. I think they are very busy at the moment , a trustee has to be appointed for me so thats been 2 weeks now. If you are concerned do give them a call x

When we went bankrupt, we were told that the O.R. would contact us within 24 hours, and they did, just for a brief phone interview of about 6 or 7 minutes, and then they arranged to call us about a week later for a half hour chat, and to go through everything.

3 days after tour bankruptcy and no contact sounds unusual. Call the O.R. I think it's Chester or Stoke; depends where you live. Tell them you went bankrupt on Monday. When did the court tell you that the O.R. would ring you?
  • Hi, I went BR on 03.09.12 and only got the call from the OR on the 10.09.12 so it's not unusual. My case was in central London but papers sent to OR in east of England. First call was really just a courtesy call to confirm bank account and arrange full telephone call 2 days later. OR was pleasant and non judgemental. You'll be fine. Just give OR office a call and leave a message saying you have had no contact and give your ref number and name of court you attended.

I went bankrupt midday and had a basic phone call back around 6:30pm that same evening. OR interview happened about a week later.

I echo other posters - it's worth ringing the OR office just in case.

Don't worry about the OR interview either, at first you may read some nightmare interviews but in most cases the OR's are generally "human" people...

    Good luck! :j
