Designed in 1958 for the Langelinie Pavillion, a restaurant in Copenhagen, Poul Henningsen’s magnificent and most recognised design, the Artichoke lamp, has 72 aluminium ‘leaves’ arranged in such a way that it produces a glowing, glare-free light that can be viewed from any angle without revealing its source.
