Bailiff advice

Okay, at 7:45 on Monday morning I had a bailiff knock on my door re council tax debt I explained that I could pay today £703.50. My tax credits and pay go into my bank today. I have got to ring after 1pm. Now, a problem, my tax credits have gone down which I was unaware of, leaving me £150 short, thought I had this all figured out :-(. If I explain will he give a week to pay the rest ? Any advice appreciated....

Did they enter your property and get a list of your goods?:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

No they didn't come in, I explained that I had received a letter and I think he was going to try his luck but I stood outside in my dressing gown ! He knocked on the front door which I don't use ;-). Fingers crossed, he did seem pretty reasonable....0

Dont pay him anything
Deal with the council direct . Tell the council what you can afford to pay. Tell the Bailiff to go away, he cant do anything, you wont go to prison, the council will send you a form in time to fill in. Make sure you fill the I&E form so you have Less than £150 free money every month and put down £50. This whole procedure will take 2-3 months...dont worry....dont get bullied0
