Buying gifts for people abroad

Hey

I live in the UK and need to send a gift (anniversary) to my girlfriend whose in Australia at the moment. I keep googling and I don't really see many good websites and the ones I do find are outrageously expensive (though I think that's common in Oz.) I just want a reasonable website that sells good quality stuff that I can get delivered to her. Something special, but not the typical flowers thing.

Any recommendations?

Thank you!:D

P.S. They need to be able to accept Paypal.

  • Hmm...Try Banana Republic, they have 20% sale going on just for one day and they have some exquisite jewellery pieces that your girlfriend might like. Don't know your budget but worth a peep. Good Luck!

No idea. I think you can search AUS website? It could be cheaper as it would be their local delivery.
  • I mean Australian websites. She's there for work and will be still over our anniversary, so I'll need a decent Aussie website. I've been having trouble finding any good ones. Australia doesn't even have their own Amazon or anything similar. And I don't want to order from a website that isn't based in Oz because I don't want it to arrive late.
  • I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

If you enter Australia online shopping in Google, lots of website pop up.
  • Pingua is saying that all of those websites ship to Australia at a cheaper price than buying an item and then posting yourself

Ive family in PERTH WA - near where Gifts2thedoor are based - so very handy last minute. Some stores in Australia can take 5 - 10 days - if based at the other end of Austalia.

This year i am thinking of posting parcels over - as its great ordering everything in Australia on the card - but it doesn't feel as personal. Ive been sending cards via moonpig.au, gifts and hampers via gifts2thedoor and pressies etc via toysrus.au and dstore.

So my question is - which courier is cheapest for Australia. Im not talking massive items - i will still order them there - but maybe a box 5 - 10kg - full of small but personal gifts?

Also - ive been posting cash, which i am told is a big no-no - what do others send instead.

Yes outrageously expensive, thats australia for you! Ive just dished out a hundred dollars on a bunch of flowers for my mums birthday!
