Council tax reduction it works

Hi all, just thought i would let you know that we went along with the regrading for council tax as we checked our neibours and we were on a higher tax band than the rest - we were on D. We rang our local tax listing office and had someone come down and assess our rebanding. It has taken 4 weeks all in all, but we received a letter today saying that due to an adminstraor error in 1991, we were banded wrongly and therefore we have been downgraded to a band C - as all the other houses in our street were. They are thus sending us out a cheque for the backdated money they owe us - working out to about £500.
