What to do about vindictive complaints.

Spoke to my manager. The lady made out I was harping on in front of a manager in reception (I wasn’t) and also complained about how apparently (while covering another role for a employee on holiday) I was never at my desk, coming and going as I please. My boss also mentioned that having spoken to her managers she has warned him anything she says about me has to be taken with a lorry full of salt as there is a “clash of personalities”.

So, god only knows what she has been saying to her boss, and from this and previous talks I think she complains about me more than I actually hear about.

The drawback is that I’m on a rolling contract. Hopefully I will soon be ‘properly’ employed and I think my manager is a little concerned that all this bad mouthing will have the potential to have a negative impact (regardless of never having received a complaint about my actual work).

I think I shall just have to ignore her. My manager clearly knows what they are up to and isn’t giving any weight to their complaints. I shall just have to live feeling a little superior that I have better things to be doing with my time than running to somebody’s manager telling tales because I don’t like them.
