I am thinking of changing my electricity provider, but cannot decide between https://www.goodenergy.co.uk or http://www.ecotricity.co.uk/.
Is anyone here with either supplier?

I'm registered with Good Energy for my FITs payments; they seem competent enough with that. No idea how either of them is as a supplier, though. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

I'll say ecotricity as I believe they invest more profit into new renewable generation over and above goverment reqiured levels.
Remember just because you're buying from a so called 'green' supplier , the electric you use will be as poluting as the rest

most green tariffs are a con. Generators have to reach government targets for minimium renewable percentage of gen. ( many dont) why have people been paying extra for them to do as they legally should ?0 -
good energy for both supply and FIT. We have been with them for 3 years and they are very good. If I ever have a query then I send an e mail and get an almost immediate response from a named person. No problems at all, simple straight forward pricing and bill and highly recommended0

I'd say Ecotricity.
Not sure I agree completely with James Ingram. What's important is a) the amount of money a company invests in building new sources of clean energy (here Ecotricity wins hands down as far as I understand) and b) the "energy mix" of what they supply (ie what percentage of the electricity they sell comes from clean supplies). With most companies, the clean energy contribution is below 10%. With Ecotricity it is 50% (the rest they have to buy from the open market to meet customer demand) and rising each year as they build more wind and solar farms etc. So although the electricity you actually receive from your wires is simply an unidentifiable part of the national mix, the key point is what the supplier you pay your money to is doing to affect the mix in favour of renewables.
I have found Ecotricity (although expensive) to be extremely helpful and professional in my dealings with them. Calls and emails are answered quickly, and they even ring me back when they say they will, which is remarkable these days!0
