    Hi Breakfree

I advise opening a new bank account ASAP, with someone who is not associated with any of your creditors as a parachute account before writing to your bank. Mine turned nasty straight away when I told them I was in difficulty & threatened to seize my salary (& force me to sell my house as my mortgage is with them).

Contact CCCS, you can fill in all your details on-line & they will email you an advice booklet. There is no obligation to proceed further.

Post a full SOA (all monthly outgoings, see the "sticky" thread at the top of the forum) Then you will get loads of advice on how to proceed.

    Best wishes
    Sharon

Hi BreakFree. I know it's not going to be easy but tell your lovely lady your situation. You will feel the weight lift once you know you're not deceiving her and OK, she might hit the roof but she will have more respect for you if you come clean. You will also get a decent nights sleep too. Take care, take a deep breath and go for it. You will get excellent advice on here and support from others in similiar situations. Good luck.

    Hi,

From what I gather you have £40'237 debts on loans and a further £10'900 on credit cards. Giving a total debt balance of £51'137....

    You have no assets....

Have you considered bankruptcy (BR).. I feel this would be your best way forward... It should be something you gove serious thought to...

Haqve a look at the Insolvency service website... the BR forum on here and National Debtlines site... I would also recommend that you contact CCCS (not c-c-c-s.com) and see what they say...

With BR - the stigma has mostly gone... you can get a mortgage afterwards (Pink Loans are apparently good) and it would goive you a fresh start...

Please do not dismiss this option.. I know people on DFW tend to want to pay their debts off, leaving themselves with nothing... but you are on a fresh path... new woman, new life.. dont let the past get in the way of your future... This is an ideal time to look at the BR option and would have no effect whatsoever on those you live with or your G/F...

Did I understand from your original post that you live with your parents? If you opt for bankruptcy I think that there can be an adverse effect on the credit rating of people at the same address. Perhaps I'm just imagining this but could someone else give an answer?
