just realised that with mine. i wondered why the 500ml bottle of coke was now included
think it's time i start taking lunch in every day again, but hard when i only have half a kitchen doh.0 -
Just found this out today, when I went in to get a lunch. Complete rip off. The selection of sandwiches is boring, but acceptable at £2.50.
Decided to go to Boots instead (yes, I know it is more, but nicer selection for just 29p more (rather than 79p more). And Boots include a delicious smoothie drink (this word may get blocked!!) - Naked.
20% increase I think is a bit much in one hit.0 -

Just doing the sums - if you buy the meal deal every day, then that's 3 clubcard points per day. At that rate you'd need to buy 100 lunches to get one "free" lunch at a total cost of £300...

I tried a change and went in Boots last week, the sandwich I picked up was one of those "Clearance £1.50" ones.
When I got to he till, the lady put it through at a normal priced £2.99 sandwich! I challenged her and explained the label said £1.50 and she tried to tell me that it "worked out cheaper" putting it through that way than normally?!
Can anyone explain this?
£1.50 sandwich + 50p crisps + £1.09 Lucozade = £2.59
How does £3.99 meal deal work out cheaper than £2.59!?
Safe to say, I haven't been back. They're all as bad as each other!0 -

You're half right - the Boots meal deal would have been more expensive, but only by 20p. The meal is £3.29 not £3.99, and the total sum of the individual items including the reduced sandwich is £3.09 not £2.59. Maybe you and the checkout lady had the same maths teacher?0 -
Just make a packed lunch. Usually much healthier (depending on what you pu in) and cheaper too.
Boots does a better meal deal tbh because there is much more variety and the food is much better quality than the crap Tescos make. I never buy at full price anyway. For some reason everytime I go in boots there's stuff on clearance. I never pay for a meal deal by the way. They're all a rip off imo. People just see they're getting those fancy expensive smoothies and think they're getting something good. Most smoothies are unhealthy anyway.0
