  • I've started doing my own nails. Used to get a file and polish with Shellac but bought all of the stuff off Amazon so save money in the long run. I did spend a bit up front but at £20 twice a month, I'll recoup it in no time! Also my mum and my sis are having theirs done and we're going to take it in turns to buy things so that will save even more!

Thanks for this, though I just had to google shellac as never heard of it, it might be something I can look into though, not sure I'd be very good.

Nothing spent today. :j on course for a green again this week. Fingers crossed. Only spends left are grocery type things from grocery budget.

    Hope everyone is well.

Morning everyone. Missed my train home so caught the bus back last night (unfortunately that was an extra £10 taken out of the bank so over budget for the day but what was left after buying bus ticket has been put straight into savings tin to resist the temptation).

    £19.25 / £10.00 (£7.85 put in the savings tins)

NSD day for me today to balance me back out.

Sorry to hear you missed the train Lottie, but well done on saving what was left.

I did loads of research and you're best off going for the cnd shellac. O or gellish but i think that's harder to take off. The ones I've got off amazon seem to be legit. They're from a seller in the US.

Also the light I got was a cheapy one and does the job. There are loads of reviews from therapists slating people doing it themselves but it's working for me! Only thing is I daren't go back to my salon because I don't want to tell them I'm doing them myself and my eyebrows are desperate to be waxed...DH keeps calling me 'monobrow'!! (they're not really THAT bad)!

Well today I spent 90p on a costa at work (normally take my own latte from home but was in training and in early. I also spent 65p on a can of Pepsi max because I was parched and as I'm full of cold, I needed to taste something other than water!!

I think I miscalculated the other day because my total is now £16.04/£50.00..not bad!

I might look into it, and do lots of research. And see whether I could do it or not.

And you did make me chuckle with your 'monobrow' comment. :rotfl:

Meant to say if you can paint your nails normally, you'll be fine!!

I do a French manicure which is getting better with practice!

    Hi all,

I spent £1.35 yesterday on a latte at work....needed a large one as was in early for training! Also forgot to write down DD's footy in my book this week...in total I have spent £20.49 but will be getting a takeaway tonight and that will probs cost £20. That will leave me with £10 from the £50 I pedged but I'm going to try and make that last the weekend which shouldn't be too bad as might just get an ice cream at the park for the kids.

Another NSD day for me so that means I am under budget this week, phew! I was worried as the fridge is looking a bit bare, but I am off to the shops tomorrow and will fill up then, all budgeted for so not so bad really.

I am going to put the £12 saved towards the OP on the mortgage so it does some good :)
