Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 9th September 2012

Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

Welcome oopsadaisydoddle.
You can post as little or as often as you want. I find by posting regularly it keeps me on track, as i am embarrassed if i report back a non essential spend.
Good luck with the challenge.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -

Morning everyone yesterday was a bit of a bad/good day. Missed my train in the morning (mainly due to my forgetfulness of very important work stuff) so had to take the bus into work (what's worse is it was the school bus and I had nothing to read and no headphones with me for three quarters of an hour). On the plus side it meant I had to buy two bus tickets instead which cost £2.40 each so was less than what I had budgeted for.
£8.80/£10.00 (£1.20 in savings tins).WSC 13 -14 2 10 -
Thanks for starting this EverTheOptimist, now I know where to admit my overspends ha ha
I am goping to be good this week as the freezer and cupboards are full, may need a few things for the fridge, but I will see how it goes, I am starting to begrudge spending. :rotfl:
so that it is all on this thread and not the other one, I have a NSD for yesterday and will update as the week progresses.Been here for a long time and don't often post

Thanks for having me!
Well today I gave DH £5 for his lunches at work..I'm putting that on here and writing it in my little diary because we're in it together so to speak. Our biggest waste of money is takeaways so when we get to the end of the week, if we haven't got enough for one in my purse, we're not having one!
DH is also off out for a pint tonight (very rare occurence) but it'll probs be a pint of coke! That'll mean an extra couple of £'s.
I also gave DD £3 for football after school. I took a top back to Asda and got £10 for it but needed a couple of towels and a pair of joggers for school for DD so had to put another £3 towards it. Nearly didn't take the top because I'd lost the receipt but glad I did!
So far today I've spent £11...running total for week...£17.49/£50.00.0 -
Evening all
Spends of £4.60 today, bought some chocs for my friends birthday and a bottle of water.
Also have had my nails done but that doesn't come out of this budget.
At least now i have set the thread up i shall know what to do at the weekend if i am required to do next weeks too. You should have seen me messing about with it and writing notes last night. :rotfl:SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -

I've started doing my own nails. Used to get a file and polish with Shellac but bought all of the stuff off Amazon so save money in the long run. I did spend a bit up front but at £20 twice a month, I'll recoup it in no time! Also my mum and my sis are having theirs done and we're going to take it in turns to buy things so that will save even more!0 -
Morning everyone. Missed my train home so caught the bus back last night (unfortunately that was an extra £10 taken out of the bank so over budget for the day but what was left after buying bus ticket has been put straight into savings tin to resist the temptation).
£19.25 / £10.00 (£7.85 put in the savings tins)
NSD day for me today to balance me back out.WSC 13 -14 2 10
