Office Relocation, terms of relocation now being changed

Hi I wonder if anyone has any advice for me.

My company has relocated a considerable distance and I was offered the option of claiming mileage to travel to the new office when I do. This verbal offer was made.

After the move I had a letter through from them stating they are only willing to pay me a fixed amount and not the mileage (clearly cost saving as there is a difference in price) which is different from the original verbal offer.

What rights do I have?

I'd appreciate any useful help or advice. Thank you.

They can't dictate how you would travel to work but they can dictate how much they'll pay you to do so. Many companies only offer travel expenses for the cheapest method of travel.
