I got a call to attend an interview today for a job I applied for quite some time ago, The interview is during my work hours so would need to get out, when we ask for time off we have to fill in a form stating the reason for time off. Last time I had an interview I said I had a doctors appointment, they wouldn't let me out, I had to take the day off sick. Do I just put it bluntly I have a job interview? Normally I think hiding it would be the best thing but given my situation at work I think making it clear I am doing anything I can to get out might be an option.

If you are asking for leave to be taken out of your holiday entitlement, then the reason for wanting the time off is "holiday".0 -
Don't ask for time off or try to book a holiday. If you've done that then call in sick, it's obvious you're not sick.0
