Incorrect details on Experian

My credit report is showing I have a poor credit rating because I have an outstanding debt of £59. But I don't! It was a 3 month interest free payment plan with very (I've actually paid it all off 1 month early) but it's still showing as overdue even though this was paid 3wks ago! Anyone know what's going on? My credit report was good last week and this week an imaginary "outstanding debt" has plunged me into poor even though payment wasn't due til the end of September
Grateful for advice or explanations!

it a balance, its not negative just shows you use the account. Once its due on the statement it will be posted on the cra
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Are you sure it's showing as overdue? Does it say in a yellow box 1 or 2 months late for example?
  • Thanks for the replies. I'm only on the trial - its getting cancelled in 1 week! With regards to my balance with very, I have paid it and although it's not alerting a missed payment it is showing as an unpaid credit and it wasn't there last week! I just find it frustrating that incorrect details like this are having a negative impact when I have paid well before the due date (there's no penalty for this, I checked). I really don't want a credit card so was relying on this credit account to improve my credit rating - not make it worse!

    1. The CRA's scoring means nothing to anyone other than the CRA's, and last time I checked they don't lend. Every lender has it's own internal scoring and they dont take the CRA's score.

    2. CRA's are updated normally once a month so the marker is correct (so far), according to the CRA (as they haven't been updated) you have still unpaid credit with Very. This will be "fixed" in the next 3-4 weeks at the most.
  • Thanks! Just thought I might need a loan and wanted to check things our (I decided to do it the good old fashioned way and save) do I'm cancelling the free trial soon anyway cos I can't be bothered with my credit score swinging left and right every few weeks!

That's refreshing to see someone do it the old fashioned way and save for something so I'll tip my hat to you there :)

So say I had a buy now, pay 6 months interest free credit on something, I take it then that I couldn't apply for a loan or credit card during these 6 months because my credit file is going to say I have an unpaid debt for 6 months?

Okay I was wondering because lots of people do this kind of thing (sofas on the 'knock' etc for 3 years) and if that screws them up they may not realise.
