You come out with such sweeping generalisations that at times I think you do so in search of nothing more than a response in the same way that a troll does - except that you clearly are not a troll. Still...
Brendon is still one of the 1% though and that money all comes off the back of union members, hard working or not.0 -

Strangely enough I used to write for them. They sacked me for being too right wing.Norfolk_Jim wrote: »You come out with such sweeping generalisations that at times I think you do so in search of nothing more than a response in the same way that a troll does - except that you clearly are not a troll. Public Apology
I would like to apologise sincerely if some of my posts and comments have contained generalisations. Threads such as "Kill all the bankers", "All BTL landlords should be strung up", and "Estate Agents are all useless expensive !!!!!!" could, I now realise, be taken seriously.
In the light of the above, I now realise that politicians are totally honest upright representatives who have been victims of misleading advice over expenses they should claim. For the record, I now understand the critical importance of brand new flat screen 51" HD televisions in every room to the education of large families forced to survive on benefit packages as small as 180% of average household incomes.
In line with other posters, I can recognise how vital it was - to guarantee the success of our heroic Olympians - to pay tube workers a £15,000 bonus and quadruple-time. And that words such as "blackmailing b@st@rds", "scum of the earth", and "sack the lot of them" may have given an impression that I disapproved of such union behaviour.

And for a minute there I thought you meant it.
I would have liked to be a tube driver but it didn't work out that way. Nearly got a job as a train driver and often wonder how life might have turned out if I had. In the end I've taken whatever job I could find, private or public sector it was a case of see a job advertised, go for that job. Evaluating the merits of public vs private sector never came into it and I imagine in most cases thats pretty much how it is for most people.0 -
Have you thought of doing stand up comedy? Honestly.
It seems to be in vogue at the moment to rant in a Victor Mildrew fashion. Gets great laughts and that Jimmy Carr seemed to do ok out of it; he's not even Greek.0 -
Then there is the extremely obnoxious Mark 'fatcat' Serwotka, who receives an annual pension contribution of £28,000 from his union, which is £5000 more than the average salary of his members.
That's on top of the £100,000 salary he also gets paid.
When trying to get elected leader of the PCS, he said he would only draw the average salary of the membership....
Not bad for someone who is supposed to be somewhere to the left of Marx.
The top people always get paid the most under socialism, it fits just fine the main difference to capitalism is there is no performance link to anything they do unless hot air counts0 -

No. I'm far too idle to stand up.Norfolk_Jim wrote: »It seems to be in vogue at the moment to rant in a Victor Mildrew fashion. Gets great laughts and that Jimmy Carr seemed to do ok out of it; he's not even Greek.
I am an avid fan of Victor Meldrew. In fact I have e-mail addresses that start miserableoldsod@.....
In Victor's defence, I note the 'popular' view that Victor is always moaning because he is just miserable. In truth (if you watch it analytically) you find that most of the time he is fully justified in his moaning. Things happen to him that would test the patience in all of us.0 -
Very well observed - It's nice to find we can agree on some things.0
