Help sacked and jobcentre meeting tomorrow

Hi ........ I was employed as a driver for a car main dealer for about 18 months, i had various little shunts with cars previously which i hadnt been reprimanded for but they werent happy. Over the last few months my marriage of 34 years has been very rocky and has been on my mind badly and possibly hasnt helped my job, i also have an ongoing foot problem for which i have an appointment now at the injury clinic. So when i moved a new car the other day and didnt notice a retractable post that was still up it carved into the drivers door, i couldnt believe it, didnt know what to do,had so many things on my mind at that moment i stupidly parked it and said nothing which i regret now. Anyway it all caught up with me when later i was challenged about it when they said they knew it was me.
The long and short of it was i had a disciplinary meeting and the outcome was i sacked for gross misconduct which on his own the manager said he would accept a letter of resignation from me as he felt a bit sorry for me. So i was now out of work no money coming in, deeply stressed i went the following day to my doctors who signed me off for a monthwith 'stress related illness'. I filled out a JSA form online only mentioning my foot problem and my stress issues when filling in the bit that asks 'reason for leaving current job'. I now have an interview tomorrow and would like advice on how to play it regarding the reason for leaving bit if asked, armed with a doctors note and an appointment at the foot injury clinic.
Ive got no idea if i might be able to claim ESA or JSA based on what i say to them but i have no money coming in at all, wife only working 10 hours a week and a pensioner. Sorry this is a bit long but any advice would be appreciated.

The best way to play it is to tell the whole truth - the JobCentre ask the employer for the reason you left! If you actually did resign, and that isn't clear, then you may face a sanction, which is not likely to be any worse if you explain the whole truth - since a bad foot and being sign off with stress after you resigned isn't really going to sound a convincing reason for packing in your job. Whereas the whole truth might be more convincing (or get you less of a sanction); and telling a lie that gets found out is going to look even worse.0

Need some advice. My friends boyfriend has just been sacked. Its the second time in 4 years that it has happened. They have 2 kids. She has sent him down to sign on but don't know if he'll have to wait 6 weeks for his money. She said he didn't the last time but I don't know if the law has changed since then.0

Best start a new thread but really with little detail there's not alot can be said. Your friends bf is better of posting on here.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

Depends why he was sacked. If he assaulted the employer for example, he'll be sanctioned from JSA.0 -

Tell the truth ... as you've told it here should be fine. They might impose sanctions, but I would make sure you have the doctors note for stress and let them know that you were feeling like this at the time when the incident at work happened.0 -

Definitely tell the truth as they will contact the employer and if they don't confirm what you say then it will look worse for you. While a decision is made they will still get JSA and any sanction may not be for as long a period as it could be.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

You are a very high maintenance employee. I bet the employer is relieved. Dissecting your opening post, you seriously need to take stock of your attitude, and it's no surprise your in a pickle. You seem to be indifferent to taking care in your life and it's filtering through to your employment. I wouldn't hire you.0
