Moorcroft Muppets!!!

Not sure if anyone can remember me, had lots of !!!!!! go on last year
Splitting with ex, he took PC, hance why I havent been online!!!losing home, nearly B&B which was happeneing on a Monday, but on the Friday before, I was offered a flat, which I took very gratefully,
so me and daughter moved, then week later she started secondary school, which shes doing very well at, and we have 2 cats :D
Oh and ive gone from a size 16 to size 12
Stress for you!!!
Anyway im rabbiting on (damn its good to be back)
Ive been dealing with my debts myself, most of my debts are with
Blair Oliver and Scott, and they have been brill, ive told them it will prob take me 20 years to pay off, I send them regular SOA, try and up my pro rata
payments ect, but seems ok!

Then we come to Moorcroft Muppets
Cahoot have just passed over my debt to them,
So I phoned them up, rude gits, I was opilte but firm, said i would send SOA
Got reply of well thats not enough to pay towards it, so i said thats all you getting, and then they replied well we will have to send one round of our agents, to which I replied yeah and i'll be waiting with a baseball bat and CS gas :rotfl: Which he didnt know what to say, and then I informed him I had 2 very large ferral cats :rotfl:

I do take this serious, but hey dont threaten a single mum

Anyway, are u still awake? :p
Does anyone think this is the best way to carry on, me dealing with it, gonna take years and years to pay off, will they one day think, sod it lets bankrupt her, turn up on doorstep, me waving a baseball bat!!!

Or do you think I should get CCCS involved, can I get my debts lower thro them like just pay 25% r what I owe?

Any suggestions?
Pretty Please :o

I would not threaten the Moorcroft collection staff with ferral cats.

    I WOULD get CCCS involved.

Have you posted a SOA? Frankly, at the moment you're in the middle of the early stages of the "dance". Eventually, they will have to take what you are able to pay. Just repeatedly send them offer letters.

No one is going to decide to bankrupt you, since it would cost 'em somewhere around 2,000 (1,100 brupt costs, 900 CCJ costs), and from the sound of it they would get less than you are already offering in return.

ian Not everyone CAN pay their debts. Life has a habit of throwing curve balls. If you are not prepared to help people with their problems, b!g!er off.

It depends how confident you feel with your own ability to sort it yourself - sometimes with the tougher collection agencies they respond better when there is an organisation on your behalf like CCCS or payplan. I think it might be worth a call to CCCS/payplan/national debtline and see what advice they can offer you based on your circumstances.

I know wescot were bad with me at first, but I had CAB helping me and they soon backed down. I never have a problem with them now.

    Good luck xx

    Yea that's really helpful ianian.

Welcome back Eli. Just wanted to say well done for picking yourself up from a horrible situation and glad you're doing so well now. My first thoughts regarding the debts would be to post up an SOA now so we can see the situation and how you could get back on track. But if the debts are substantial it would be an idea to contact either CCCS or Payplan for advice. :)

Hey there, have you considered an IVA? It may be better to pay off what you can owe in 5 years rather than 20.

Ian, not everyone can afford to pay off their debts just like that. You should read some of the threads on this forum and educate yourself before you post stupid comments like this.

Well done on the weight reduction. I hope to do the same though not via stress I hope!
I think going to CCCS or Payplan would be a big help. The reason being that they set you a budget for your priority spends - rent/mortgage, utilties council tax, food, and the divide what is left between your creditors pro rata. This means there is less pressure to pay back what you can't afford, and you are able to live day to day.
    best of luck

Welcome back Eli - and please ignore any comments that may be made by people who can not appreciate your situation - perhaps, one day, they may find themselves in a similar situation and will wonder why people are reluctantto help them.
Moorcroft are a particularily nasty bunch of people to deal with, but they CAN NOT make the type of threat that they have made to you.
You have shown that you are seriously trying to deal with your debt and Moorcroft should respect that.
I agree with the others - it would be a good time to talk to CCCS, CAB or PAYPLAN.
If Moorcroft continue to harrass you - talk to the CAB.
If they do send an 'agent?' to your house, remember that he/she has NO automatic right of entry, nor can they sieze, or threaten to sieze any of your goods without a court order, and that they MUST leave when you tell them to.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I had a debt with argos which was passed to Moorcroft, they were really !!!! to me on the phone, i kept telling them i could only pay £11 per month. I owed them £2000 after a month they accepted that amount and i phone up on the agreed date each month to pay them. they have been fine with this since aug last year.
