I want to buy a 4th Generation 8GB iPod touch.

Options
Hey guys,

I am buying my son an iPod touch for xmas and was wondering if you could give me any advice/input on where to buy one from, if ipods are any good, what to buy with it (accessories, leads, earphones) etc?

Also, the cheapest i have seen it from, is Amazon for £141, and then Argos for £149.99.

Have a look here http://www.studentcomputers.co.uk/Products/category/iPod+Touch. I haven't used them but lots of people on this site have.
  • I just got 2 of these for my boys for £127 each from Sainsburys. The deal is posted on HDUK :)

you have to use a voucher code (HUKD link), the 4th gen iPod touch is the previous version, the 5th gen is coming out in a couple of weeks time, but the cheapest 5th gen will be £249, and a 16GB 4th gen will continue to be sold for £169 for the next year, meaning the 8GB version will continue to get updates for a few more years to come (which is good)

8GB is enough for a selection of music and some games, but it may fill up quickly if you put video and download big apps on it, but I don't know if that would happen with him being only young.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've just bought my second ipod touch from Student Computers. Daughter had hers for less than a year before losing hers on the school bus. Now she's getting another for her birthday. Don't feel quite so bad about her losing it as we didn't buy new.
  • I’d try eBay. I know someone who got a new 32GB one for agood price, however that was from a London seller one week after the London riots
Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day, but if you teach a man to fish.... then he's gotta get a rod license, but he doesn't have any money. So he's got to get a job and get a national insurance number and pay taxes and you can't even cook the fish 'cause you needed a permit for an open flame.
  • out of stock at sainsburys, hope they get some in soon
  • still out of stock, anybody else come across a similar deal? thankyou
