FLM/Amigo Nightmare

Hello everyone - need some advice, help.

I lost my job, and things were getting really bad with trying to pay our debts. Things spiralled and we ended up getting paydays loans to pay things off and it all got into a mess.

Me and my took out a loan with FLM Loans for £3000 with my husband as the main applicant and me as the guarantor. We basically over committed ourselves with all our payments so we have gone to the CCCS for help. They have been really good and majority of the creditors have agreed to accept the repayments except for FLM/Amigo loans.

They chase us on a daily basis asking us for money and they keep threatening court action and it has now been passed to a case worker to look into. I have checked their terms and they state that they can send round the bailiffs, have a charging order on our house or have attachment of earnings.

I am starting to get really cross with them as they contact us all the time and threaten us all the time. CCCS have advised that they cannot do this.

Has anyone has problems with them before and how have they got through this? We are making monthly reduced payments to them so they cannot make so many threats as we are paying them something.

I want to beat this company and get them out of my life.

HELP.

  • Easiest way to beat this company is to find the money and pay back what you owe them.

They want their money back and they will keep hassling you until they've got it.
  • FLM / Amigo will continue to contact you until you have repaid every single penny, plus they'll make a fortune in interest. Sadly the previous poster is right - pay off the loan asap if you want rid of them.

Avoid like the plague if you can.

Have you agreed to make the reduced monthly payments or have you just decided to do this ?

If you haven't spoken to them to make an agreement you need to do this as soon as possible, ignoring their calls won't work.

What you should have done OP is reduced your outgoings to reflect losing your job. Get rid of the tv/internet/phone package, try to reduce your mobile phone bills by moving down a price plan or move to payg, reduce your food shopping bill. Did you not get a redundancy payout or even apply for job seekers. ?
  • I am somewhat shocked that they allowed you to borrow £3000 with your husband as the borrower and you as the guarantor.... I didn't even know you could do that.... and I'm presuming that this was before you lost your job and not after!

Of course FLM/Amigo are going to chase you morning, noon and night - they are chasing both the borrower and the guarantor.... I'd be chasing, too!

As per previous posters, you need to find a way to get rid of this loan because they are not going to go away! I'm with DCFC: sell, reduce, do anything legal to get the money to pay these people off as quickly as you can!

Had experience with FLM (now Amigo).

The loan has to be seen as a secued loan and included in your budget with CCCS.

We had same issue they ended up taking us to court and had CCJ etc and ended up paying it off.

Good luck with everything hope you manage to get it sorted.
