Hi DSM :) Might be worth you looking into paying a 0.5% money transfer fee to boost your stooze pot too?

I've decided to cool right off now. No more applications, make the monthly payments like clockwork, and eventually reduce the limit on the money transfer and slow stooze cards. I figure all this should give me a half decent chance of balance transferring my existing stooze pot at the end of the current 0% period. Doing so would probably be more worthwhile than trying to squeeze every last drop out right now.

Thinking about the long game as always, eh Squirrel? I'll need to shut at least some of my cards down before re-mortgaging, but not sure if I'll even want to keep the stooze going at that point. With a little luck, our household income will have gone up a fair bit as DD will be at school :j

I don't want to make too many applications just in case it gets rejected. I had two new cards (one 0% purchase and one 0% fee free balance transfer) a few months ago and i know i will need another balance transfer in Nov when one of my 0% ends. I am still slow stoozing on a very long 0% purchase card and atm my Santander 123 lite account is giving me 5% cashback on android pay. So I am using android pay where I can and my stoozing card for elsewhere.

If you haven't already, I'd recommend signing up for the (free) MSE credit Club - it will provide a very good idea of credit products that you will/won't be accepted for :money:

Nice progress made in July :) A nice boost to pensions, exceptionally low car depreciation figure (for once!), a small S&S increase, tax due dropped a tiny bit having completed tax return (I try to overestimate slightly until I have the accurate figure from HMRC), student loan interest added (PAYE deductions have stopped but DD repayments not yet started).

    In July we spent:
£1,426.33 on bills (run a home and two cars - inc £828.48pm accelerated mortgage)
£343.04 on weekly shops (food, cleaning products, toiletries, nappies, etc)
    £759.65 on everything else

Spendier month this month, but we're still averaging slightly below the SoA estimate :)

Thanks for dropping by Jessy :)

I've not posted here since the last monthly update, not really had much to say...

August was a low spend month for us, the lowest since we started tracking spends. We've had a very nice time doing pretty low cost stuff like going to the beach, woodland walks, playing in the park, picnics, etc - it seems we're happiest when we're barely spending, so win-win :D

    In August we spent:
£1,227.58 on bills (run a home and two cars - inc £828.48pm accelerated mortgage)
£329.88 on weekly shops (food, cleaning products, toiletries, nappies, etc)
    £359.18 on everything else

Thanks KC, yes we've had a really nice time :) Might not be everyone's idea of a good time, but doing the simpler things with our two small children is what we enjoy the most! :D
