OOh oo I just thought. You can (I think) get some form of tax back for travelling to work by bike. Don't know where I heard it but can I have the brownie points?

Just a thought. If you are on broadband, have you considered using Skype for all your landline calls? Get a cheap internet phone, Tesco and Aldi do them for under £20 each (I use the Aldi one.) Do not use the Aldi software which comes with the phone., you do not need it. Then download the Skype software and load up with £10 credit, plug your phone in to your USB and follow the instructions. You can see your credit run down on screen so you know where you are up to. It is very cheap (a few pence) to make long distance calls this way and much cheaper than landline to mobile or landline to landline. However, be aware that Skype calls to mobiles is more expensive than to a landline. You do not need a Skype telephone number either unless you want to make and receive totally free internet calls to and from other Skype users, you will be charged for a Skype number in this case. Just be aware that internet calls count towards your download limit if you are on that type of broadband package. Many broadband packages do not restrict you in this way and even those which do will still allow you plenty of scope to make your calls.

One other thing: When you are online go to the website https://www.saynoto0870.com for the geographical telephone numbers of companies. These are cheaper to phone than their 0870 equivalents particularly if you are using a landline or mobile phone to make the call. Try entering the 0870 number of a company which you may have phoned in the past and see what comes up - a very useful exercise and a money saver too. Then keep these real telephone numbers listed in a notebook for future use.
