Apply for HSBC mortgage while on maternity?

Hi All,


We just got our offer accepted :j over the moon for the new house.

Found a great life time tracker with HSBC (2.19%+BoE). We have 40% deposit and the monthly mortgage payment worked out is 1/3 of our joint-income, normal circumstance, it shouldn't have problem applying for HSBC mortgage.

However one thing I am not quite sure is: I am on maternity leave currently. Would like to know if this will affect our mortgage application?

Anyone successfully received HSBC mortgage offer while on maternity leave?

    I questioned them about this earlier this year and they advised as long as you had a letter confirming you would be returning to work on the same wage they would consider your full earnings in the affordibility process.
