You will be able to claim some tax back but will have to wait untill you get your P60. Once you have that speak to your local tax office and they will tell you to write in enclosing various documents such as your P45, P60 and anything else they think is relevant (such as JSA details) they will then calculate what tax you should of paid.

I did this recently and not only did they work out last years tax but also reviewed the past few years and found out i had been on a wrong tax code. The result being a rather nice 4 figure tax rebate :)

I was working until January 2007 but since then have been on Job Seekers allowance. My salary was in the region of £35K. I will be recieving a P60 in Spril but as I am not working at the moment, can I claim part of my tax back.

If you were working until January 2007, you should have received a P45 when you ceased employment, this should have been handed in to the benefits office when you started to claim JSA, if this is what you have done, then any refund you are entitled to will be made by the benefits office when you cease claiming JSA or 06 April 2007 (whichever is the earliest). You will not receive a P60 from your previous employer as you have to be employed at the 05 April 2007 to receive one. What you will get is a P60U from the benefits office, which will show the amount of income you have received as well as JSA you have received to 05 April 2007 (this is assuming you have handed your P45 into the benefits office)
