Sky/Freeview etc

Sky+ is definitely going to have to go, even if it's only for a few months. On Monday I'll be looking at the range of Freeview boxes available, as I'd miss E4 but can do without LivingTV. :rolleyes: A basic one will do - I've already got a dvd recorder, so as long as I can record from Freeview to that, it will be fine. I can move either the Sky+ or the Sky box into another room & use it for Freesat - I'll check on the card issue on Monday too.

We have a sky box downstairs and the kids have freeview upstairs, the kids get lots more channels than we do.
We dont get e4,sky sports news ect, but the kids do through freeview.
But it is true if your 12 month contract is up when you end your sky they do not take the box back.

if you have a sky+ box and just have it on freeview can you still pause live tv this is my mine problem with getting rid of sky i can live with out most of the channels but the pause button on live tv i dont think i could

I've been told that you can still pause live tv with your sky+ box even after you cancel sky+ as the functionality still works.

Hi everyone

I have a freeview box but cannot tape any freeview channels on my video recorder at all. My freeview works off the AV channel and I cannot tape the AV channel. Am I being stupid? Just doesn't work. Does this mean that when we go digital I won't be able to tape anything anymore?

im sure you can set your video to record the av channel if you scart your freevie box into it (requires another scart) i managed this for my grandad but unfortunately he cant understand how to work it

your instruction manual for your freeview box should show you how

Hi fallenwiccan, thanx for that, but my freeview box only has one scart lead so I assume I'd have to buy another freeview box that has two scart leads?

you should have a black ariel lead apart from the av socket use this.

plug the scart from your freeview into your video scart. get another scart lead and connect this between your video and TV. if your video has only one scart socket you will have to link your video to your TV via the RF (aerial) cable. then you will be able to record freeview. depending on your TV you may have to select video channel ( 0 or 9?) to watch your freeview. Your TV may also automatically select the scart input when freeview is turned on that is, if you have two scart soclets in your VCR.
