Left a job and underpaid

So I got a job in a bar which I worked in for a week before leaving for several reasons: I was finishing at 12 but because of bus timings and journey times etc I wasn't getting in till 3 and I heard the restaurant manager talking about me.
Anyway.. I can account for 25 hours which I kept note of, I believe there may have been another 6-12 that I never wrote down but I'm unsure plus 6 hours training shift, so clearly I wasn't working there that long but I got paid on friday, they gave me £19.52, which if I exclude the trial shift and the hours I'm unsure of and just include the 25 I'm positive on, they have paid me the equivalent of 78p an hour.
Thoughts? Is there any reason they can be right on this? Not giving notice of leaving or anything? Should I send them a request for the money with a threat of legal action? I'm not quite sure what to do.
Thanks

Bring the subject up with the manager. Don't jump straight in with a threat of legal action as it might pee him off big time and getting any money owed to you could become a pain the bum.
But you said you're unsure of 6-12 hours that you never wrote down. How can you not know if you worked or not? If there's no proof you worked those shifts, getting money might be very difficult.0 -
Because it was like 3-4 weeks ago now and I was quite annoyed when I left so I never wrote it down and I forget these things and I can't remember if it was the Tuesday or the Thursday I left. You know that feeling when there are days missing but you're not quite sure when?
Anyway I'm willing to forget that because I'm not sure and I don't expect them to help me, like you say it will be difficult to get it if I'm unsure myself. Best to focus on the 25 I definitely worked.
Also do you get paid for a trial shift? I'm unsure.
To be honest we're already not on good terms and I was thinking they will probably still try and screw me around unless I make it clear I'm not joking. That's my thought, bad call?0
