How cold is the stadium in the evening?

The title says it all!
We're there Saturday night (can't wait!), I was wondering if it gets cold in there or do the 80,000 spectators tend to keep it warm?
I don't want to lug around extra layers unnecessarily.

Was there last night which was a lovely evening. Only had a t shirt stupidly and was a bit cold when just sitting although bareable. I would suggest a sweat shirt would have been perfect.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

I was there too - brilliant evening - and thought exactly the same thing. Just take a sweatshirt or jersey. There is tea and coffee available but the queues are quite long as they are the same stalls as serve food. Quicker to just get beer :beer:0

Thanks for your replies, I'll take a warm cardie!
You never know, by Saturday night they may be selling the merchandise off cheap so I can nab me something niceAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
You will have a fabulous time. I didn't want it to end, I was really upset to leave as it was my last trip to the olympics. They sell the mechandise around the stadium and lots were buying the sweatshirts but they had ran very short on stock I looked as I would have bought some but nothing suitable, glad we managed at £38- £50 each it would have been very expensive. You may be lucky by friday perhaps they will find more stock and reduce prices. If so, treat yourself.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

I'm jealous of those still to go to the Olympic stadium. We were there on Monday, it was an absolutely unforgettable experience, we got to sing our national anthem when David Weir was presented with his gold medal, and that was just the icing on the cake for me
.
If I could get more tickets, I'd be back there in a shot.
Enjoy it peeps!0 -

Take a wooly for sure, especially if you are in the upper tier. If windy you will get a bit of a breeze there. Enjoy, it's a once in a life time experience!0

We were there this morning in the lower tier, and both got a little chilly, we had t-shirts and hoodies on. Put my extra light mac over our knees though and we were fine
It is just brilliant :T0 -
I was there last Friday morning when it was a wonderful warm day but I was absolutely freezing in the stadium. I think it depends how high yours seats are. For this one, I bought the cheapest seats and so was in the shade the entire time. My friend had expensive seats and was in the sun so wasn't cold.
I would strongly suggest taking a jumper or cardigan with you unless you want to purchase from London2012. You can always leave it on your seat if you're not using it. I really regretted leaving my one behind at home. I would think in the evening it would be abit more chilly if you're on the higher levels.0 -
I was there yesterday and it would appear the sun was a little bit more potent than I gave it credit for - 1 morning in the stadium + 1 afternoon pottering around Olympic Park = 1 soon to be pretty nippy face/neck & even nippier Mum who'll remind me I really shouldn't be getting burnt on my neck!Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0
