My friend has just had a stroke and is in hospital I would love to buy her some flowers between my and my friends please could anyone suggest
a) a good flower delivery company you'd trust - I've heard bad things about m+s for example lol

Ummm I have ordered flowers from a company recommended on here but can't remember the name - could have been flowers direct. BUT other people on here didn't have such a good experience.

Main reason for posting is to tell you to visit https://www.differentstrokes.co.uk if your friend is younger than 65 - all sorts of helpful stuff on here for younger stroke survivors and their families. Good wishes to you and your friend :D

    Depends where they live,
    go to
    www.findflorist.co.uk
put in the post code and find the nearest florist to the recipient,
    a) this usually means you do not have to pay delivery,
    b) and avoiding relay as the relay florist or company like interflora, flowergram etc gets up to 10- 20% of the amount to do this, cutting into your outlay bigtime!
    c) as to finding the best in the area, that's another matter, but you can see the ones who have websites links at the above link and for the cost of a call you can find out what there manner is, very quickly. ie are you getting the hard sell! Doing it online is a recipe for mediocrity-no. matter how much you are paying.
    d) give good notice, ensuring the freshest flowers are obtained from the dutch suppliers so that the bouquet lasts.

    hope this helps

This was posted to a thread I started a while ago. This method may take a bit of time but will save you money if you wish to follow this root. I would personally say that most florists are very good, however it all depends on how much you are willing to pay, I’m sure your friend is worth every penny though.

This was also pointed out to me too
flowers from interflora are so reliable they are worth paying the extra for, they also do simply interflora, only online which is a cheaper line and very good, just that they don’t arrive arranged.

I hope your friend recovers from the stroke she has suffered, with intensive physiotherapy etc this may be possible, I just hope that it’s not to severe.

    Good luck
