The new Sun to Fri challenge - 1 April 2007!

Good morning lovely DFWs :)

Weather report as usual first: nice and bright down here. Opened the back door and closed it quickly though as it's pretty cold out there!

Been slaving away in the kitchen as family are coming over to dinner. Roast beef and all the trimmings for them, nut roast and lots of trimmings too for me :D

Have not been on here much lately - work is slowly but steadily taking up all my energy and time. Good for MSEing but bad for my physical/mental health. I am hoping after the end of year is out of ther way, I can get some balance back in my life (or better still find a new job ;))

Anyway, enough of my ramblings  , let's have some updates and new budgets please!

So, had a good week which was very much needed to boost that shaky self esteem :o Will go for £40 this week as I have a night out with the girls on Wednesday and I am hoping for some serious cocktails and letting hair down stuff :D

Now for anyone looking in, please feel free to join - the more the merrier! Basically, decide on the amount you want to spend up to from Sunday until the end of the working day on Friday then pledge it here and off we go! The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anythng else.

The reason the challenge is up to Friday is that I like to give myself a day off the counting and let my hair down a bit :rotfl:

Feel free to update this thread on Friday or post on the new challenge next Sunday ;)

Have a great week everyone and keep it low!

Moozie x

Hey Moozie, glad your OK, lots of us have been worrying about your lack of posting this week. I didn't do too badly, but it was a little too close to the bone for my liking. Budgeted for £20 and spend £19.49 phwew. Will try again for £20 this week, should be a doddle as the kids are off school so there's no money for them, just for me.

Hope everyone has a good week.

I spent just $15.20 which was great! (I also came under with my months grocery budget, and got a job! :j )

Soooo.... this coming week, I know I'll have posting to do, but I'll leave that out of this challenge, and budget $10. That'll be plenty since I have a solid 3 days work.

moozie, there has been an admin error, I said 27 last week not 15, managed to blow it slightly on friday, very low day and needed junk food to pick me up... final total £30.49, but I stole the extra from my piggy bank and not from the wages that hit my account on friday, so not all bad. another night in the naughty house for me n jack tho (he blew his budget too, too many bought lunches while chasing terrorists around la....I'll go be quiet now)

for this week I'm going to try try try to keepthe spends down,
    £10 for food
    £5 for spends
£30 max for new undies, badly needed my only white bra is discoloured and I need nice undies for my self confidence (ok am rambling now) but la senza have a sale on so am planning on getting a plain white n black and a funcy new set for that so bargainous!

total for next week £45 and if I blow it you can poke me in the eye with a stick...

I have my limit set at £60 for the week (including food). Filled up with petrol last night (£15) after babysitting so that paid for that. Got a fiver left so add to £40 from the bank account and that should be plenty.

Going to Mum's for lunch today and then up north for a funeral. Mum and Dad are paying for Hotel/Dinner etc today and tommorrow so a very low spend day. Just some sweets for the journey and a big bottle of water!

This is the first time I've joined in on one of these so have no real idea what's realistic! With the bank holiday am working only four daytimes but extra (Double time!) shifts at my second job. Hopefully won't have much time to spend any money, so am going to aim for £15.
I'm putting petrol in the OH's car tonight but that should be my only other spend this week.

Hopefully having to admit to overspending on here will help me keep my budget down!

So this challenge is for spends not usually budgeted for?

If that's the case then I'm going to say £10.

We need to buy flowers for a funeral, but I'm going to make my own arrangement and little card for £10 rather than the usual posy I would get for about £30.

I honestly don't think I have anything else to spend on as I just did my weekly shop today and there is plenty of food to see us through.

OK well I came in under target last month at £19ish, am going to aim for £25 again

I did spend more, but that was for a hobby I have and was kind of budgeted for :) so I'm not including it as it wasn't random spends :)
