Online check in for internal flight without passport

Is this possible?

I'd like to use online check in to avoid extra fees with Jet2 when booking a holiday for my mum and her friend to Blackpool. However her friend doesn't have a passport i.e. will use her driving license for ID. Can you check in online without a passport though - every scrap of info I can find about it just says passport details.

Has anybody done this before and would it accept driver license number as an online alternative too?

I fly a lot and have never had to put in any ID details while checking in for a flight within the UK. I see on the front page for check in for Jet2 it says 'Enter Passport Information' but have you gone through to the next bit to see what you are actually asked. ID will be checked at the airport, and you usually check in online using your reference number and surname.

Thanks for that - your moral support was enough for me to plough on.

I can now confirm it didn't ask for any extra info to be input. So their system is set up for internal flights OK.

Great stuff. Airport check-in was an extra £18 p.p. so well avoided.
