Tax rebate for uniform query

I know mse say the army pay for uniform laundry but i did 7 years in the reserves and unless i was away for their 2 weeks annual i had to wash my stuff at home. So would this be an exemption?

Another one i wear the same uniform as a PCSO in the police but im not a PCSO so wouldn't this qualify me for the £140 instead of the 60?

Any help would be great otherwise im going to have to just spend 10 minutes waiting for revenue customer care line to pick up.

sorry, don't know but I suspect not, after all you were being paid as a member of HM Forces so no different to still being in

doubt it, If you are not a warranted officer (up to CI rank) or a full blown PCSO then you fall into the category of other uniformed police staff so £60 http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/EIM68130.htm

you realise it is the tax on £60 ie £12 tax allowance.

Your tax code will be changed to accommodate it.

Its usually for uniforms that have a company logo on them.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I'd have to disagree. If HMR&C have agree that the annual cost of upkeep for a PCSO's uniform is £140 I can't see why the cost for an identical uniform should be any cheaper for someone with a different job title. HMR&C are aware that agreeing these allowances has the implication of setting a precident for other jobs.

    Claim the £140 rate.
