Product Idea but what do I do now?!

My daughter has suggested a basic but good idea for a product - not sure what to do now. I couldn't make it myself though it would sell very cheaply. I would expect the big supermarkets could sell it. Can anyone advise on the best way to take forward? Cheers

This is why it's so difficult. You have to make it, at least a prototype, then you have to find/convince investors that it's got a market and they'll make a profit if they back you. So you'd need to have researched the market, got some people buying the product already ... and know that it is wanted and the price is affordable/right.

EVERYBODY has good ideas for new products. Nobody's never had a great idea. The hard bit comes next...

The problem is in getting the product in to the supermarkets. It's not the best ideas or inventions that have the most success or make the most money, it's the one's which are promoted properly and have great marketing that make the most. Just watch the program Dragons' Den for conformation of this.
