If

Iv'e been transferring 3K a year into a joint account, with myself and my son.
Yes dumping assetts, he's in need of it, at the moment, more than me, although the money has never been touched -

If, my clock over runs I would have no problem in getting it back.

If, the alternative happens, would he get stung on CGT, it being in a joint, or do I simply take my name off the account ?

Perhaps he means IHT?? ie one can gift £3k pa to anyone with no worries about IHT - but if it stays in a joint account it's not really 'gifted'. (And the 'per annum' opportunity is also lost if it continues that way).

    Anyone explain what I mean?!!

Silly man. Never come across irony before?
Why not make a proper contribution by translating the OPs question so that we CAN help or take one of your pills, then you won't feel quite so bad.
