has anyone bought any of the motorcycle gear? It might be worth not buying their gear because and of the day if you have a fall the gear is the only thing thats going to save you
I know its only stuff like gloves and boots but all it will take is one major fall and the gear might crumble. I would advise to pay more when it comes you saving your life. :j0 -
there was quite a lot left here in Perth Scotland today except for the head collars which sold out yesterdayhalf scottish half italian :100%moneysaver0

Could someone let me know the Lidl opening times. I don't want to end up like I did at Aldi when I first went for their 'specials' - thinking they opened at other shops times - 0800!!

it was like a 'bear pit' in my local LIdl when the horsey stuff came in. Folk were q-ing at 8am for a 9am opening and then there was a scrum! It was impossible to get near as people were literally fighting over stuff. A local riding school proprietor, who also has a small tack shop, went out loaded with stuff and looking very smug. Many other people bought items in groups too - presumably for selling on ebay. Specialy the hats as they will fetch at least double if not treble.
I was gutted. My daughter and I struggle to maintain our love of horses because of money problems so it was sad not to be able to benefit. I certainly won't be going on ebay to bu at twice the price!
Still, I'm sure they will have them in again and, perhaps, more stock.Stop looking for answers....

Been in there this morning and got
2 x Intercoms
1 Lock/chain (basically the same as Oxford really)
1 x Coolmax Balaklava
2 x pair of coolmax waterproof socks
and for someone else.
a lock, intercom and tank bag...
The stuff was selling very fast so I doubt there will be much left unless you can get to a store today...
For the money you really couldn't go wrong all the stuff are bargains...and I'm not just saying that....
The intercoms allow a radio/mp3 etc input and can be used as combined for stereo L + R earphone output..Also has separate rider and pillion volume which is good. The earbud housing is a bit bulky and might be uncomfortable but with my lid the ear section has cutouts so I will stick the ear bud and mic into the helmet where it will stay permanently. Three year warranty too.
The Lock and chain is heavy...similar to a cheaper Oxford lock...has a similar key too.
The Coolmax stuff is excellent... probably cost at least twice as much from Motrax.
The gloves were well padded, supple leather... minimal protection though...the sizes tended to come up very small.
The boots... well personally if they had had my size (11) I would got some... minimal protection again but they were as good as boots I have seen for well over £50 (Akito's and Frank Thomas for example)
The helmets... well for your typical city/scooter rider they looked excellent... what more can I say...another bargain!
My local store only had a few of the chargers so I missed out on those unfortunately... might check a different store tomorrow.
The back protector was CE approved....again I'd say at least half the price than similar Hein Gericke or Motrax items.
I didn't see the jackets hanging up but in their bags they looked sturdy and pretty well made.
For a tourers the maps are good... but not much detail in terms of more off the beaten track routes... A and B roads were shown though... made from wipe off plastic stuff so would resist rain, grease etc..
All the stuff I got plus two boxes of three Mozzarella and Spinach pizza's and Egg Mayonnaise sandwich filling came to £58!! sorted

My other half bought the waterproof biker suit and the leather gloves. The waterproof suit has certainly been put to the test this morning as it was chucking it down on his way to work. It passed with flying colours!0

I was really impressed with the tank bag for £5.99 - the zip has broken on my previous Oxford one (which cost me £30) - and the Lidl one has the same features plus more! Well chuffed. The intercomm thing is very good also for £4.99 - I'll be able to hear the missus screaming on the back now

Didn't manage to get any boots - seems my local Lidl only had about 10 pairs to start with and most of them were size 9
