Hi,
I just posted this on the student board, but realized it is not a student topic in itself... So perhaps some of you can help me...
I need to send to Portugal several books that I no longer use. I know there is a thing called M-Bag which is a bag used for shipping several books at the same time up to 11 kgs, and I would love to know if someone has ever used this option. I tried searching on the royal mail website and was unsucessful, but for example the german post has that: http://www.deutschepost.de/dpag?tab=...&xmlFile=89 9
According to the deutsche post 11kgs (which I think is the limit in the UK) would cost 27.50 euro, about 18£ to Europe by surface. This seems fairly cheap... There seems also to be a even cheaper option there just for books... But what about here in the UK?
Anyone got any clue? I would hate to go to my local post office with mere speculations... (they are not very nice there, nor helpful). Thanks.

M-Bags are a US thing only. I use it when I buy books in bulk from the States. If you are in the UK, you should go to your local post office and ask for advice.

Try asking on the eBay board.
I know you can get different rates if they are classed as 'Printed Papers' but I think there is a 5kg limit

I sent a parcel to china recently. Used http://www.interparcel.com were very cheap over half the price of DHLs normal rates.
You may want to try there for prices..don't know your size of parcel so hard to know if its ok or not for you.
They collected the item at my door also which was kinda nice.0
