Bargain flights? Not from here...

Just been trying out the fantastic new moneysaving flightchecker. A great service and will definitely use it before booking another flight. However, saw flights from Belfast City to Glasgow Int for early July at £0.00 return. Sounds great but would you believe Flybe are charging £38 per person (including children) in taxes and charges. Total for my family of 5: £190. Not such a bargain after all!

Ah but Easy Jet isn't in the Flight Checker but does fly from Belfast to Glasgow and Edinburgh ;)

Thanks for this but had already tried Easyjet and they were charging £139.90 for the same combination. You can see why the cheaper flights were so appealing.

Easyjet are doing flights in and out of Glasgow in early July from £4.50 plus £5 taxes.

If you are travelling with a larger party, its sometimes better to make separate smaller bookings as the cheaper seats are often limited. The last time we flew as a family (five of us), I tried to book all five flights at once. Prices were £19.99 plus taxes each, total price for the family £124.95. When I went into the website and booked us as two separate parties different prices came up. I managed to get two seats @ £4.50 plus taxes and three seats @ £7.99 plus taxes, total price for the family £57.97.

I usually find that with easyjet you need to be quite flexable with travelling times to get the best prices.

    Hope this helps,

Don't forget that easyjet are promising to match the lowest fares of its competitors in N.I too. I think they refund the difference if you can find a cheaper flight on the same day.
