So, I had a choice to make....
1. Pay some money to my mortgage.
OR
2. Buy the iPhone 5
I can't wait til my iPhone arrives :-)
Ok, it's definitely not money saving and I could have done so much more with that money but I reckon I deserved a treat and I could afford it.
On the mortgage front, no overpayments made this month...probably because the lodge still hasn't paid rent this month (very annoying!!).
On the plus side, I'm working away from home for 3 weeks so extra expenses coming my way soon :-)0 -
Well, it's been far too long since I've been here! Working away from home isn't helping matters much. I haven't even managed to sit down and look at this month's finances since being paid yesterday so no idea what I'm doing.
On the plus side, completed the paperwork for my company pension...getting to salary sacrifice so thinking about £1600 of earnings heading to the pension pot every year (£2k with HMRC's help!).
Unfortunately my credit card bill this month isn't even worth looking that. Managed to go over £1k on just 1 card alone and considering my net pay is little about £1400, who knows how it's going to get paid!! Eeeek!
Keeping taking a sneaky peak on Rightmove for houses for sale...I'm just desperate to move as soon as I can...I'm way too impatient!
Almost at bike selling stage...need to get it to the garage for MOT and think ill just get shot of it for whatever I can as it's sitting there wasting away.
Anyway, will get a better money updated one over the weekend!
Nighty night x0 -
So, I've updated my numbers spreadsheet and despite feeling a little tight on cash, it appears that I'm doing ok. We'll see if I'm saying the same when it comes to credit card paying time in 2 weeks!
So, the good news of the month is that I've officially enrolled in the work pension scheme. Doing it via salary sacrifice (my work are not passing a penny of their savings onto me though which I'm not too happy about!). So overall I'll be around £80 a month worse off for a £1600 annual pension. I'll need to update my SOA at some point!
I'm working from home for a week and managing the family business which will be hard work I think. I'm hoping for a little extra cash for doing it though...we'll see ow that conversation goes!
Oh....and how could I possibly forget to mention - I got the iPhone 5!!! Ok, it was an extravagant purchase and totally to helping towards my mortgage freedomness but I really really wanted it. And I think I deserve a treat ow and then.
So, that's all the news I can think of just now. Be back later!0 -
So, I'm absolutely shattered! In the never ending list of ways to make some extra cash, running a B&B has got to be the hardest!! At least it's some extra cash for the future house and mortgage.
Still going ok on the money side (haven't had a chance to spend any money - even managed to avoid buying the new ipad mini!!).
It was payday today and also the first regular pension payment being made. So that's £77 odd worse off a month at the moment...hope it pays off in 29 years time :-)
Paid an extra £60 ish off the mortgage over and above regular payment so should have an updated balance on 1st.
Managed to come up with 2 potentially good business ideas which I want to look into more - just need the time at the moment!
Anyway, shall be updating my figures within the next week once everything's been done for the month!0
