Shall I just wait?

Hiya

Okay so tuesday last week I had wem for a pair of ghd straighteners from instyle.co.uk. I was told they would be sent out last week. On Thursday I contacted them to check when I could expect delivery so someone could be home. I had an email back on thursday saying

The stylers are due to arrive tomorrow and they will be sent Royal Mail recorded delivery. Is this ok?

I replied saying fab no probs. Friday came and went and no delivery (I emailed them friday afternoon saying I still hadnt received delivery even though post had a arrived but I didnt have a reply). Saturday came and went and no delivery. I have had post this morning and again no delivery. Now this is a prize and I am so so grateful for it as it is something I have wanted since mine broke a couple of years back and it is my birthday this week so a lovely present. I dont like bugging the person but Royal Mail here arent great and I do worry about hem getting lost! My postman generally deliverys recorded post now as they carry a machine around with them. Do I wait and wait or do I contact the person to check?

Could it be that they meant that THEY were expecting the GHDs to arrive on the Friday and they would then forward on to you? In which case, they probably wouldn't get posted until today.

I assumed it meant to me as when I emailed I asked when I could expect delivery as I had to go out the friday afternoon but would arrange for someone to be home. Lol. And when I gave her my address the tuesday she said they were sending them out that week. Confusing! I see what you mean though.

Yeah the fact is says "they will be sent" rather than "they have been sent" makes me think Nod Off is right I would think they'd arrive tomorrow hopefully

Thanks! Hope so. I have had such bad experiences with Royal Mail and dont trust them hardly at all! Lol.

You could maybe ask for the tracking reference? Hopefully they arrive soon

Thanks everyone. Well I had emailed friday and then I emailed yesterday apologising for being a bother but asking if I could get the recorded delivery tracking so I could arrange re delivery with royal mail as no one will be home most of this week now likely.

I havent received a reply to either email and no striaghteners either. Such a shame

I think you need to relax
you will get a card if nobody is home and can arrange redelivery
theres no arranging delivery in the first instance

I had an email from her on tuesday asking if I had received them and I advised still nothing. She said they have been sent and she will need to find out what happened asap and let me know. They havent arrived yet I received things that were posted a couple of days ago so am assuming they are lost or the postie has nabbed them! The post near me can be quite terrible for things like that and have known one to be locked up because of stealing parcels and post! Eeeek. I am still waiting on her to get back to me to let me know if she has had any joy sorting from that end.

I know i need to relax but believe me I am a right stresshead! Lol. I have had parcels that have been left with a house 5 doors away and no card left to tell me and I have been chasing the sender before and ended up having to speak to managers at my local depot as the postie was saying he had posted it but couldnt remember where he left it!!! :eek: Lol.
