Bridal Dress

Hello,
We got engaged earlier this year and are now looking at planning our wedding (YAY!)
Can anyone link me up to some websites that might be useful. I'd quite like to look at dresses - is there such a website that has lots of dresses on?
Thanks in advance if anyone could help.

Congratulations!
What kind of thing did you have in mind? Are you intending to get a dress from a proper bridal shop? A high street store? Or from an online (chinese) shop?"More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. Smith:cool:0 -
https://www.google.co.uk Lol.
Seriously - just get googling wedding dresses.
But be warned what you like on paper may look hideous on, and the dress you end up with maybe the total opposite of what you like online.
My advice - book some appointments at bridal shops and go try on loads

Just google it. It'll take you to loads of websites...Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0

Ugh. People saying "google it" just to get their post counts up..
it's worth looking at specific designers (Personally I loved Alfred sung, however went with a sophia tolli dress) to get an idea of their styles and seeing if they have local stockists to you. I tried on a vast range of dresses from "prom" to vintage...
I couldn't pick a dress, so eventually persuaded my family to visit a discount bridal shop (where you can take the dress away with you) this was perfect for me as i didn't want to risk the shop going bust.
it is also really good as the staff don't get narky with you for wasting their time, they were really helpful and honest! i'll stop now, if you have any questions I am happy to help0 -
The wedding dress section on Hitched.co.uk is quite extensive - you can search by shape, colour, designer or just look at everything: http://www.hitched.co.uk/wedding-dresses/
It may also be worth looking at a few blogs to get some ideas - quite often on their 'real weddings' sections they'll have details of where the bride's dress is from. Or wedding magazines' websites have galleries of wedding dresses."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
You could look for bridal shops local to you and see what designers they stock, then google that designer to see what you do / don't like.0

There's loads of lovely designers I wanted a Ronald Joyce dress but I've ended up with a Phil Collins dress, Pronovias have some lovely dresses too

The first place I looked was google, this also brought up wedding dress shops in my area that I didnt even know about.
A lot of the bridal shops in my area have good websites which link to designers pages so I had a look through them first.
The best thing for me though was just to go in and try on different styles until I found the one I wanted. You'd be surprised how different dresses look when they're seen on someone real as opposed to a photoshopped picture, or if they're in different colours from a picture. My dress was ivory and teal in the picture but looks completely different in white and red.
Steph, mines a Phil Collins too - such gorgeous dresses! Romantica have lovely dresses too. Although if I had the budget I might have gone for an Ian Stuart dress. Not very MSE but oh so gorgeous!0 -

Actually that isn't true. The first thing I did when I was looking was google wedding dresses. There are SO many different ones that I had no idea what sort I wanted and by looking at loads of different pictures gave me ideas as to what I wanted. Also by googling and adding the place you live, it brings up wedding dress shops in you area, if that's where you want to get it from. Or finding designer websites or websites that you may not have heard of and designers you may not have heard of.Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0
