Accountancy Fees

Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much an accountant would charge to prepare the annual accounts for a limited company including submitting a corporation tax return?

This depends on the size of the company, the nature of the trade, the state and completeness of the source records to name but a few variables.

The most comparable pricing is with the "one man band" limited company service, which typically comprises accounts, self-assessment return, 4 VAT returns, PAYE, dividend records, Companies house and HMRC filing, company minutes.

This can readily be compared from firm to firm, website by website. Given that you've asked for a price, my website shows this as 850 plus VAT. If giving this out is against the ethics of the site - in my view it's borderline but you asked for a price - then the moderators will axe this post.

have a look online - search specifically for accountants that know and understand your business, there will probably be costs savings and partner benefits that you can utilise. Then be clear about what you require - is it just the very basics, or would it be more cost effective on your time to spend it working on the business rather than the bookkeeping.
Contact a couple to get a feel for them, ensure you are comfortable with what they are saying and the way they are saying it, and it should also be fairly easy to get them to agree to a fully inclusive fixed price cost, and try to poay monthly by DD if you can, it all helps your cashflow (and the accountants so no arguements there).
    Good luck :)
